Labrador Mechanical, LLC is proud to install Mini-Split heat pumps manufactured by Fujitsu. Various units are available as single zone systems. These are good for areas where one room needs to be conditioned such as an add on room or bonus room addition. Multi-Zone systems can handle up to five rooms within specified capacities.
Each of these system types will utilize a variety of indoor units; from basic wall mounted to a floor level model, ceiling cassettes and Slim Duct models. There are models to replace an existing Unitary Air Handler and gain the benefits of the inverter driven system utilized by Fujitsu Mini-Splits.
The real magic of a Fujitsu mini split is in the outdoor unit. These units all feature an Inverter driven system that reduces energy consumption, allows for ultra quiet operation, and runs the system at the precise capacity needed at any given moment. Plus they are all Heat Pumps. This means they will produce heat even when it is quite cold outside. Certain models will heat to their full rated capacity down to -15F.
These units will out perform the older style Unitary heat pumps because the inverter drive allows the system to run the motors at true variable speeds. The compressor and fans will vary their speeds based on the current conditions both inside the home and outside. This variable speed feature allows the units to start softly and ramp up the speeds to whatever is needed at the moment. The first benefit is the soft start doesn't use nearly as much electrical power as a unitary system just to get started. Secondly, when the system is correctly used, it will run at a fraction of what it is capable of. The electronics are such that the system will only run as fast as is necessary to keep up with the heat gain (AC Mode) or heat loss (Heat Mode) experienced at any given moment.
